    Q1) What is the role of JSJT? And, how do you conduct your business?

    Do you have a mission, vision, objectives (long plan, short plan), and strategies?

    QA1: The role of NSJT is to bridge the gap between labour market needs and workforce skills developed by training programs, provides cooperative solutions between the private sector and the government, provides flexible system that offers opportunities for Saudis to train in different levels of skills.

              How do we conduct our business?

              We provide cooperative & supportive training system through a consortium between           shareholders, , to provide training that suits individual company’s       needs.

              short term goals: Saudize certain jobs within 2005 by supreme decrees.

              Long term goals: Saudize over 64% of the market workforce through skilled training by           2010 & be able to export skilled workforce internationally.

            

    Q2) Who are your shareholders? What are their roles?

    Q3) Are you a profit or non-profit organization?

    QA3: we are a non-profit organization.

    Q4) Are you a government or a private agency?

    QA4: we are a semi government agency providing solutions for the private sectors & liaison government regulations.

    Q5) How flexible are you in serving the private sector specific job demands?

    QA5: We help private sector tailor their own training needs in a structured fashion through our own supervision & assessment.

    Q6) Are you limited to specific job types’ shown in your brochure or do you have plans to expand?

    QA6: No they are unlimited, sky limit. These are examples ONLY of the main jobs as described by the National Organization of Saudi Standards.  

    Q7) Do you have plans to meet different job types & needs of the oil & gas industries?

    QA7: We can meet all job categories i.e. Oil industry .

    Q8) If you design a training module for a specific job, do you get the user concurrence on the final training module draft before issuing it?

    QA8: Yes, a training module cannot be approved until all parties involved agree on the details. Training module is constructed through the requirement of the companies (competency based training).

    Q9) Who are your targeted population? Age/ education level/ private/public/other sectors?

    QA9: Targeted population:  , fresh graduates, including universities (roughly 17), males & females. We serve private sectors only.

    Q10) What is your process of an unemployed Saudi seeking a job through you?

    QA10: The NSJT accommodates unemployed Saudis through public ads within public media for open jobs in the market. Also, companies have the final word in choosing who to hire through mass interviews.

    Q11) Do you get financing for training directly from HRDF or through you?

    QA11: We finance training through HRDF ONLY according to the plane described in .

    Q12) Do you have an office in Dammam?

    QA12: Yes, Khalid Alsaloom 03 827-2324. The NSJT branch in Dammam has five people ready to serve the needs for the Eastern Province.

    Q13) Is it operational now? Can you receive applications from jobless young Saudis?

    QA13: Yes it is, we do not work as an employment office, yet we help companies to hire through employment agencies (i.e. chambers of commerce) and provide all the help they need to acquire proper funds, training & certification.

    Q14) Did you publicize your services to the public sector in the media or through Chamber of Commerce?

    QA14: Through chambers of commerce & media, but we are in the process of working a massive add campaign within June 2004.

    Q15) How and who will certify or accredit your training modules? Is your training in Arabic or English?

    QA15: We will accredit training modules through the board of NSJT (Ministry of Labor Deputy, Director General of HRDF, General Secretaries of the 3 Major Chambers of Commerce, Vice Governors of GOTEVOT, General Secretary of Manpower Council & 3 Reps from Business). The language of instruction could be both; it is a job-specific element.

    Q16) Do you issue recognized or accredited certificates to your training programs’ graduates?

    QA16: Yes we do through NSJT

    Q17) Do you design the training modules yourself or through outside training experts and who they are?

    QA17: We could design training modules by curriculum dept. at GOTEVT or through private outside training centers. GOTEVT contracted with British, Australian & Jordanian specialists to design training modules. Companies may design their own training modules within NSJT  guidelines. If the company does not have a training strategy, we can help in providing a training scheme (e.g. the jobs we illustrated in our brochure), or we can tailor a training scheme worked for a certain job that is not recognized in our brochures. However, we cover the majority of the jobs the market needs.

    Q18) Do you use off the shelf training programs or develop custom made programs?

    QA18: We can tailor a certain training program for each job according to the needs of each one offered by every company since training for one job is different from another depending on company’s specific needs.  

    Q19) Do you have your own training facilities?

    QA19: No we do not, yet we have the power and the ability to work with the other parties to utilize all training facilities, governmentally and privately.

    Q20) If you do not have your own training facilities, where will you conduct training?

    QA20: If the company does not have their own training facilities, we can work it with GOTEVT facilities across the country . In addition, we can employ certified and approved training facilities. Agreement on specifics could be reached through hiring companies, NSJT, and training facilities. We also manage to pay for the training cost as descried in . 

    Q21) Do you follow up the progress of your trainees and how?

    QA21: Yes through assessment plans shown in .

    Q22) Do you conduct testing and assessment of the outcome of your training programs?

    QA22: Yes through continuous assessment. This is reached by questionnaires distributed to all parties at the end of every training program we conduct. Changes & updates can be agreed with the specific training requirements since the majority of the training is based on hands-on proficiencies & not theoretical.

    Q23) Do you update your training modules or do you keep them intact?

    QA23: Our training modules are open for any update the market (companies) needs or demands. The market is dynamic; therefore, we are as well.

    Q24) Is there a deputy to your Dammam office manager to respond to our calls or needs when he is away?

    QA24: Dammam branch is a proficiently structured office since it has five people to serve you from 7:30-2:30. In addition, Riyadh office is also at your service.

    Q25) What are your plans to publicize your services to Saudi ARAMCO Contractors and work with them to achieve our Saudization goals?

    QA25: We wished if we had a chance to promote our services in your forum since it was the best opportunity they know who we are. Yet, we can be added in your correspondences to them, electronically and paper.

    Q26) Are you welling to participate in regular meetings with Saudi ARAMCO departments and their contractors to get yourself involved in promoting your services for their required training needs? These are specific meetings for Saudization Contractors Workforce.

    QA26: Yes we can definitely do. This would be the best opportunity to get familiar & promote our services to all ARAMCO contractors. In addition, we may facilitate a person to serve contactors at the Contractors Saudization Dept. in ARAMCO if needed in the future.

    Q27) What do you need from Saudi ARAMCO? And, what do you expect from them?
